Technical Assistance Packaging Workshop
National Invitational Workshop
The project start up technical assistance workshops were in Tucson with project partners.
The Purpose of the FIPSE supported Initiative known as "National Community of Practice for Community Health Worker (CHW) Postsecondary Educational Programs" is to "identify best principles for CHW postsecondary program design and responsiveness and establish a consensus on 'best practice' educational program delivery strategies and instructional materials and methods; also to provide TA with Adapter Institutions."
The Technical Assistance Team
A team of national CHW advisors, six (6) core postsecondary institutions, and a cohort of curriculum and instructional experts make up a "technical assistance team." These partners bring to this project:
- Direct experience in postsecondary programming, including "lessons learned."
- CHWs, who understand their role and responsibility in the health and human services workforce and their educational needs.
- Instructional delivery strategies, which are responsive to the CHW workforce and employers.
- Competency-based and performance-driven curriculum designs.
- Competency assessment for credit as college-responsive programming.
- Adult non-traditional learning pedagogy.
- Curriculum innovation models
